AN APPEAL has been made for witnesses after the driver of a BMW tried to entice a man into his car.

The incident occurred at 10.15pm on Tuesday on Pitkerro Road, Dundee.

It is understood several similar cases, where the driver of a car has approached males, were reported in the city over the weekend.

In the incident, a dark car, possibly a compact BMW, pulled up and an Asian man, in his late 20s to early 30s with short hair, spoke to a man walking north in Pitkerro Road.

The driver claimed to know the man and encouraged him to climb into the car.

The pedestrian then spoke to a woman on the south side of Pitkerro Road, telling her about the car following him, before she got on to a bus heading into Stobswell.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, particularly the woman who boarded the bus.
