DUNDEE REP Theatre Club celebrated its 50th anniversary last night with a gala dinner and generous donation to the Rep.
The club, which specialises in raising funds for the Rep through a variety of charitable efforts, welcomed 47 members and their guests, including some of the Rep’s cast and board to the Queens Hotel’s Glamis Room.
Dundee novelist Rosamunde Pilcher’s husband Graham, who is the honorary chairman of the club, toasted its success and gave a short speech detailing their past, present and hopes for the future. Mr Pilcher also handed over a cheque for £1000 to the Rep from the club’s latest fund-raising attempts. Club secretary Jim Innes said, “It’s a great achievement to have been going for 50 years.
“We are all looking forward to a great evening.
“We’ve been raising funds through raffles, dinner parties and charity events for all these years and look forward to continuing our work with the Rep.”
