Preparing for charity opening of gardens

Mrs Turcan is seen with gardener Alan Connolly.

Final preparations are being made for Sunday’s charity opening of the garden at Lindores House, near Newburgh.

The garden on the banks of the Lindores Loch is being opened up to the public for the first time to raise money for the Royal Blind School in Edinburgh.

Attractions include a dolls’ house treasure hunt, a silent auction of artwork from the Royal Blind School, a talk on The Power Of Plants and a demonstration of healthy family cooking.

A new woodland walk has been created beside the loch, where osprey can be seen along with pochards, mallard ducks, tufted ducks, great crested grebes and golden eye and mute swans.

Owners Robert and Elizabeth Turcan are allowing access for the event, which run from 2-6pm on Sunday. Entry is £10 per car.
