Magazine printing issues to fore at Dundee event

D. C. Thomson & Co Ltd is hosting an international conference focusing on health and safety in magazine printing in Dundee on Friday.

The European Roto-Gravure Association (ERA) event is being staged at the Invercarse Hotel.

A delegation from across Europe is visiting the company’s East Kingsway works plant as part of the symposium.

The conference will hear from a range of speakers, including D. C. Thomson’s Stewart Lynch, who will talk about solvents used to print magazines.

Others issues on the agenda include rotogravure as a green industry, environmental updates and health and safety advances.

Rotogravure is the specialist method used to print magazines and is used by D. C. Thomson to produce its Weekly News and Scots Magazine publications.
