History challenge

Second-year pupils from six secondary schools across Fife battled it out on everything from ancient Rome to the second world war at the Fife Schools History Challenge. Inverkeithing High beat off stiff competition from Buckhaven, Kirkland, Auchmuty and Bell Baxter high schools and Waid Academy to secure top place in the team section. Angus Duncan from Inverkeithing ensured that his school scooped a double by winning the individual title. Grahame Fraser, principal teacher of history at Buckhaven High, said, “All teams performed very well and I have nothing but praise for all those who took part.” Our picture shows the teams as they took a break from the competition.
