Summer View looking good

DUNDEE BAND The View will be on fire this summer after being announced to play on the main stage at the Tennent’s Vital Festival in Ormeau Park, Belfast in August, writes Alan Wilson, rocktalk reporter.

Together with headliners Razorlight and the Manic Street Preachers, the group will perform in front of 25,000 fans—their biggest UK festival audience to date —on August 21 and 22.

It is yet another brilliant festival slot for The View, who played Glastonbury last week and will headline the King Tut’s stage next Saturday at T in the Park.

Add on the Oxegen Festival in Ireland and Reading and Leeds festivals in August and it’s a fantastic summer for the Dryburgh boys.

The main stage slots illustrate the unbelievable rise in the band’s profile since last year when they packed out the T-Break tent at T in the Park—the stage for unsigned, up-and-coming talent.

Twelve months on and the band are now headlining huge festivals all over Europe and regularly rubbing shoulders with legendary rockers including The Who, Primal Scream, Pete Doherty and the cream of the UK music scene.
