DUNDEE-BASED medical diagnosis company Axis-Shield announced the European launch of its latest test kit for diabetics.
The new kit measures both renal function and cardiovascular complications in people with poorly controlled diabetes.
It complements the company’s successful test kits that are used for monitoring diabetics’ blood glucose levels.
Axis Shield’s chief executive officer Svein Lien said that the latest kit will give doctors the ability to monitor diabetes patients without having to send samples to a central lab.
The company is looking forward to the forthcoming publication of a major US study which is understood to show Axis Shield diagnostic kits are superior to the current leading system.
The point of care division is expected to record excellent growth and there have also been strong sales for the company’s flu test.
