PUPILS AT Parkhill Primary School in Leven, which has just been awarded Green Flag status for its eco efforts, held a Shades Day yesterday to raise funds for Guide Dogs for the Blind. They paid £1 for the privilege of wearing sunglasses and bright colours, and the day was tied in with the health promotion of sun awareness.

Parkhill’s Green Flag award comes following the efforts of Cathryn Featherstone and her eco committee, who organised various activities including paper collection, composting, an energy-saving drive and raising awareness of litter.
