THE ORGANISERS of Arbroath’s Seafront Spectacular—which takes place at the town’s Victoria Park on July 14—have announced details of this year’s programme.
The army’s Golden Lions freefall parachute display team will be dropping in, and children attending the event are being invited to place a marker on the spot they think one of the team will land.
The markers closest to the actual landing sites will win a mystery prize.
Local pub and club teams will be taking part in a five-a-side football tournament, with the final kicking off at 4pm.
There will also be a mechanical bucking bronco, with prizes for the person who manage to remain in the saddle longest.
Short helicopter pleasure flights—which will give members of the public a rare opportunity to see Arbroath from the air—will also be on offer at the price of £20 for adults and £15 for children.
Members of the public with a hankering to take a ride on the back of a powerful Harley-Davidson motorcycle will also be in luck, as local members of the classic American bikes owners club will be offering rides into town and back for just £3—with all proceeds going to the Maggie’s Centre cancer care charity.
The seafront spectacular tombola, which is once more being run in conjunction with the Angus branch of the Royal Marines Association, has three helicopter trips as its star prizes.
Organisers Arbroath Events are looking for local businesses and individuals to donate tombola prizes.
Items can be dropped off at the West Port Laundry in Keptie Street or the Carpet Disco in Millgate.
