FESTIVAL DIRECTOR Geoff Ellis said the atmosphere at the festival was “amazing” despite the poor weather on Friday.

“The ground dried out really quickly and the arena wasn’t too bad on Friday, it was mainly the car parks.

“The atmosphere has been amazing this year.

“Even on Friday evening when people had struggled to get into the arena they were laughing and joking with the security people.

“I think this is the best line-up we’ve ever had—it’s certainly the most expensive.

“The Killers were fantastic, they put on a great show and Brandon Flowers said it was one of the best gigs they’d ever played.

“Brian Wilson as well, I went along thinking I would watch two or three songs and ended up staying for about 10.”
