POLICE HAVE named the man who died following an incident in Dundee in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Former Dundonian Steven Lee Jones (33), who had been living in Worcestershire, died in Ninewells Hospital following an incident in Dens Road close to its junction with North Isla Street.

Another man, aged 27, was also injured in the incident.

Sixteen-year-old James Simpson, Loganlee Terrace, appeared before a sheriff at Dundee on Monday charged with the murder of Mr Jones and assaulting another man.

He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody while the case was continued for further examination.
