FIFE POLICE are investigating an incident at about 8.10pm yesterday in the Park Road area The Broom housing estate in Leven.

A nine-year-old boy was approached by the occupants, a man and woman, of a small red car or van who asked him for directions to a local street.

They asked him to get in the vehicle to show them where it was, but he refused and ran home to his parents.

The boy was unharmed but there are concerns about the incident.

The police appealed to the occupants of the vehicle to come forward, as it may well be a perfectly innocent situation where no harm was intended and there is no cause for concern.

Anyone who may have been in the area and saw the vehicle and is able to provide further information is asked to call the police on 0845 600 5702.
