DUNDEE UNIVERSITY’S department of civil engineering has been named among the very best in the country.

The newest edition of The Times’ university subject league tables places civil engineering at Dundee at number three in the UK, with a top rating for research and a 100% record for graduate prospects.

The ranking has been welcomed as further confirmation of the long-term excellence at Dundee in civil engineering.

“The outstanding ranking achieved by civil engineering is a tribute to the sustained efforts of its staff and students over many years in teaching, research and service to the engineering profession,” said Professor Peter Davies, head of civil engineering at Dundee.

“We have maintained our position as the top- rated civil engineering department in Scotland for research for over 10 years and our graduates continue to be highly valued by employers in a very demanding market.

“The ranking gives a key signal to prospective students that, by choosing Dundee for civil engineering, they will be provided with an outstanding education and excellent career opportunities.”
