THE 22ND Fintry Cub Pack from Dundee held a camp with a difference on Saturday when they set up their tents on board the Frigate Unicorn.

Scout leaders and four cubs stayed overnight on the upper deck of the ship, berthed in Victoria Dock.

The group took part in history-themed activities and were shown how the vessel is maintained.

It was part of an annual competition for the Joe Mann Trophy, where cubs find an unusual camp site.

After winning the contest for the last two years, assistant leader Lynda Ramsay hopes for success again.

She said, “A few years ago we camped in a greenhouse at Dundee Botanic Gardens and last year we were in a shop window.

“The cubs love taking part and this time they can also learn a lot of history.

“They have all been very excited to stay overnight but I was a little bit nervous because there are stories that the ship is haunted.”
