POLICE INQUIRIES into a fire which claimed the life of a young migrant worker at a farm near Arbroath four months ago are now complete and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

The circumstances surrounding the fire at Birkhill Farm on April 2 is also the subject of reports prepared by Angus Council, Tayside Fire and Rescue Service and the Health and Safety Executive.

The fire destroyed three residential caravans and resulted in the death of Czech Republic national Petr Adamik (28), who had lived there for two years.

A countryman of Mr Adamik was taken to Ninewells for treatment as a result of the fire.

The procurator fiscal will now decide if a fatal accident inquiry or other legal proceedings should take place.
