OVER 100 guests were in a spin at a ceilidh in Queen’s Hotel, Dundee, last night to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care.

Tayport woman Linda Connell (44) organised the evening to raise cash for Breast Cancer Care’s Trek China in October.

Linda, a full-time social worker for Dundee City Council, was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after her 39th birthday and was given her five years’ all-clear at the end of December.

Her experience inspired her to become a volunteer for Breast Cancer Care and support people who have been diagnosed with the disease, as well their families.

Linda is one of eight volunteers working in the Dundee area and she also finds the time to pursue a love of hiking, being a keen Munro walker.

She is therefore combining her two passions and will trek for six days when she arrives in Beijing in just over a month.

To make a donation to Breast Cancer Care Linda’s fund-raising number is 277457 and should be written on the back of any cheques.
