Chance to study the classics

The vehicles lined up before the start.

ABOUT 20 classic cars took to Dundee’s roads on Saturday to begin the second Trans-Scottish Challenge.

They gathered at Dundee High School before setting off on a route to Alexandria in Dunbartonshire.

Dundee East MP Stewart Hosie joined Douglas Anderson, president of the Dundee-based Caledonian Classic and Historic Motor Club, to wave off the first car, with the rest leaving at one-minute intervals.

Cars from the 40s to the 70s, including an Austin Healey, Triumphs and MGs, took part as the run passed through magnificent scenery in Glen Lyon, Killin, Queen Elizabeth Forest Park and Loch Lomond National Park.

On the second day of the challenge, the cars followed a route down the west coast of Scotland.
