Art display is an all-women affair

AN ALL-WOMAN art show is set to take place at Kinblethmont gallery, by Arbroath.

The idea behind the show came from artist Norma Maclean, who has spent many years juggling her love of painting between all the usual commitments of a busy housewife and mother.

She said her heart would sink on being asked to complete 20 or more paintings for an exhibition —delighted to be asked, and to have the opportunity, but worried about being able to meet the deadlines.

So, together with Robert and Penny Ramsay from Kinblethmont gallery, she has invited 40 woman artists to provide just two pieces each.

The result is an exciting mix of paintings and sculptures from artists working from the traditional to the cutting edge of artistic expression.

The exhibition runs from next Saturday until Sunday, October 14.

The gallery’s opening hours are 2-6pm daily.
