McDIARMID PARK stalwart Aggie Moffat will carry out her match-day duties for the last time this afternoon.
Aggie, who found lasting nationwide fame for an infamous dust-up with hard man Graeme Souness, is retiring as general assistant at the club next week after 27 years.
She took up her duties at the old Muirton Park and has been a regular at St Johnstone since, acting as so much more than an employee, but also mentor, agony aunt and shoulder to cry on for the numerous players who have plied their trade in Perth.
Such is her standing, she has in the past appeared in the official team photo and even had her name thrown into the players’ sweepstake last time the club changed manager.
She hit the national headlines, however, in 1990 when she gave Scotland internationalist and then-Rangers manager Souness a piece of her mind when his team damaged the away dressing room at Mc- Diarmid Park.
