STAFF FROM the Perth car dealership Peter Vardy Ltd enjoyed a day out with a group of young carers from The Princess Royal Trust Young Carers Project (Perth and Kinross) recently as part of the dealership’s pledge to support community initiatives within the local area.
Peter Vardy Ltd promised their support to the PKAVS’ (Perth & Kinross Association of Voluntary Service) project last year through sponsorship and free servicing and maintenance of the charity’s people carrier.
Staff were also keen to get personally involved in the project and took a large group of young carers bowling in the first of a series of outings supported by Peter Vardy Ltd.
Stewart McFarlane, co-ordinator of the Young Carers Project said, “Having reliable transport facilities is central to our support services.
“Due to difficult family situations, many of our young carers do not have access to their own transport and are at risk of isolation.
“We are very grateful to both Peter Vardy Ltd and the Youth Work Facilities Improvement Fund for their support towards a new and much-needed vehicle.”
