THE MENMUIR Scout Troop is 90 years old this year and is calling on former colleagues to join in a reunion dinner next month.
The troop’s first scoutmaster was Douglas Soutar, who was succeeded by Jock Neish, who served from 1936 to 1962.
The group continued with reduced numbers until it agreed to close in 1970.
However, the Menmuir hut was saved and is now at the Jock Neish centre, where it is used regularly.
The old Menmuir flag is to be framed and hung in the Jock Neish Cabin at Tannadice.
The anniversary will be celebrated at the Jock Neish Centre, when the Tannadice and Menmuir Old Scouts meet for their annual reunion dinner at 2.15pm on Sunday, November 4.
Anyone wishing further information should contact Lyn Grewar 01575 572391.
