Ultimate deal for city travel agent

Chris Jamieson and fiancee Sandra Kerr yesterday.

IT WAS just a normal Saturday at work for Dundee travel agent Sandra Kerr, until boyfriend Chris Jamieson walked through the door.

For, without further ado, and to a chorus of cheers from surprised customers at Thomas Cook in City Square, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

The couple had discussed becoming engaged on the third anniversary of their first date but Chris (26) decided that those few extra days were too long to wait.

“It was the busiest time on a Saturday afternoon,” recalled Sandra yesterday.

“Two of the girls in the shop were crying because they were so happy for us. Everyone was congratulating us and my manager said I should just go home and celebrate,” Sandra (24) added.

Chris, a news dispatcher with John Menzies, explained that he had felt compelled to make his very public declaration—though he almost didn’t go through with it.

“I had actually been in once and walked out and was crossing the road when I said, ‘No, I’ve just got to do this.’ ”

As if making such a grand, gesture wasn’t enough, Chris even managed to choose the perfect ring—a diamond cluster.

“It’s one I had been looking at myself so it was as if he knew,” said Sandra.

The couple, who live in Fintry, are wasting no time in making their wedding plans, with the big day scheduled for May.

Given Sandra’s contacts, the couple are confident they will be able to find the perfect honeymoon.
