THE DUNDEE and Angus Chess Congress, held at the Next Generation Club, Monifieth, came to an end last night with a special prize-giving ceremony.
The annual event, now in its fourth year, opened on Friday night, with games finishing yesterday.
There were 130 players coming from as far afield as the Wirral, Orkney and Shetland.
But the event also had an international feel with visiting players from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Malta and Germany.
There were a number of competition winners including grand master Jan Markos from Slovakia, who won the Manor House Restoration Open, and Hugh Flockhart, from Lasswade, who won the Challengers tournament.
The event ended with presentations and an address by Angus Depute Provost Peter Murphy.
