MOTOR RACING legend Sir Jackie Stewart sped into Perth and Dundee yesterday as part of a whistle-stop Scottish tour.
Last night he gave an informal talk at Dundee University’s D’Arcy Thompson Lecture Theatre.
The former world champion chatted to fans about his new autobiography, Winning Is Not Enough, before signing autographs.
Sir Jackie said he thought it was not necessarily a bad thing that Lewis Hamilton lost the Formula 1 championship, as it would give him time to mature.
Earlier in the day, Sir Jackie paid a visit to Perth High School in his role as president of the Dyslexia Scotland charity.
He said that for many years he believed he’d simply been “thick” at school, before he discovered—at the age of 42—that he was dyslexic.
Yesterday he was on hand to help launch a publication on dyslexia, which is being supplied to every secondary school in Scotland.
He was greeted by many adoring fans when he visited Waterstones in the St John’s Shopping Centre in Perth to promote his book—they queued down the street to have Sir Jackie sign copies.
