THE RUTHVEN Gallery in Auchterarder has unveiled its latest exhibition.

After The Rain features works by artist Louise Balaam, from Sevenoaks, Kent.

Inspired by the natural environment, Louise paints atmospheric “semi-abstract” landscapes.

“Constable’s oil sketches are an important influence in my work,” she said.

“I love the sensuality and depth of colour of oil paint.”

Other artists on show include Stewart Lammie who, after spending some time in Blackford, has produced a series of oil paintings of Perthshire villages and landscapes.

Award-winning sculptor Tony Morrow is also set to exhibit new work.

He is well known for his public commissions in Tayside, including his statue celebrating the comic creation Desperate Dan in Dundee.

Mr Morrow also created the bust of the late first world war veteran Alfred Anderson which now resides in The Black Watch Museum in Perth.

Gallery owner Suzanne Hay said, “The show should be a great attraction for those after something unusual for Christmas or for those simply looking for something to do and see,” she said.

The exhibition runs until January 17.
