THE HEARTBROKEN family of a woman killed in a horrific crash on Tuesday have paid tribute to a “much loved mum.”
Yvonne Burns (44), from Glenrothes, was travelling westbound on the A92 between the Redhouse roundabout and the Kirkcaldy West turn-off at 10.30am when her car collided with a lorry which was also travelling westbound.
Mrs Burns had to be freed from the wreckage of her car by firefighters and was taken to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline where, sadly, she later died.
In a statement, Mrs Burns’s family said, “Yvonne was a much-loved mum to Connor and Lewis, a wife to Pat, sister to John and friend and colleague to many.
“She loved going away with her family on caravanning holidays where she always made new friends. Her life revolved around her two boys. She was very much loved and will be sorely missed.”
“Yvonne worked for many years with the Job Centre in Kirkcaldy and latterly at the town’s Child Support Agency.”
A spokesman from the CSA office on Victoria Road, where Mrs Burns had worked as an administration officer since January 2006, said, “We are all shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic and sudden news of Yvonne’s death.
“She was a very popular member of the team and will be sorely missed by all her colleagues.
“Obviously our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.”
Fife Police have renewed calls for the driver of a silver Citroen C2 car that was driving westbound on the A92 at the time of the accident to come forward.
“We are keen to speak to this driver as it is believed they may well have witnessed this serious accident,” a spokesman said.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact Fife Police on 01592 251111.
