Surface water makes driving hazardous

Ploughing through floods on the Forfar to Montrose road near Reswallie.

ROADS AROUND Angus were under water yesterday because of melting snow and heavy rain.

Among the worst affected was the B9113 route from Forfar to Kinnell crossroads.

There was water across the carriageway in a number of places where it had spilled off fields.

Police were called out to the B9113 shortly before 9am after the driver of a Peugeot estate car lost control and left the road when he hit a pool of water near the Red Roofs junction. He escaped injury, although the car suffered front and rear damage.

Police said surface water had affected roads throughout the county.
