DUNDEE UNITED boss Craig Levein is interested in only one transfer move and that is bringing a target man to Tannadice.
While star men Barry Robson and Noel Hunt have caught the eye of Celtic and Blackpool respectively, Levein is working solely on signing a new forward.
“We need to buy a striker and that is by far and away my priority when it comes to talk of transfers,” he said.
“Three players have already come in—Danny Grainger, Danny Swanson and Eric Odhiambo—but a target man is what we need above anything else now.
“Some lads you buy for the future but I am looking for someone who can go straight into the side.
“That’s what I have been working on and will continue to do so until we get the right man.”
The need for an aerial and physical presence in attack has been heightened by the news that ankle injury victim Jon Daly will not be available until mid to late April, according to Levein.
Today United expect to get results of the MRI scan done on Christian Kalvenes’ hamstring, while goalkeeper Grzegorz Szamotulski is expected back at Tannadice tomorrow after travelling to Poland to consult his doctor regarding his ankle problem.
Meanwhile, Clyde have laid the covers on their Broadwood pitch to ensure Saturday’s Scottish Cup fourth round clash with United, which is being shown live on Sky, goes ahead.
“We will keep a close eye on the weather throughout the week and the covers will be put on or taken off as necessary,” said Bully Wee general manager Robert Hannah.
