ONE OF Scotland’s favourite actors was yesterday transformed into a younger model thanks to the skilled staff of a Perth hairdressers.

Stylists from John Gillespie’s St John Street salon worked their magic on Jimmy Chisholm, darkening his silver locks for a more youthful look.

Jimmy’s new look was not down to vanity but at the request of director Ian Grieve, who cast the actor in his new production for Perth Theatre.

In Of Mice and Men, Jimmy plays the role of Lennie for John Steinbeck’s classic set in the grim, depression-haunted 1930s, which opens in Perth on Friday February 1.
