Ina Brown is citizen of year

DUNDEE’S CITIZEN of the Year for 2008 is Mrs Ina Brown, who was nominated for service to the Stobswell community. She said she was “delighted but flabbergasted,” writes Brian Allison, local government reporter.

Mrs Brown was a founder member of the Stobswell Forum and has served as its chairwoman.

She has played a leading role in organising the annual Celebration in the Park at Baxter Park and last summer escorted the Queen at the park’s opening after restoration.

Lord Provost John Letford said Mrs Brown had worked tirelessly in the community.

Mrs Brown is married to Ian and they have a daughter Jennifer (24).

She succeeds Broughty Ferry man John Mitchell.
