Dundee’s next top model auditions

THE BEAUTIFUL people of Dundee had their glad rags on last night as they competed for a place in the finals of a charity fashion competition.

Around 40 boys and girls attended the audition stage held at Dundee University Student’s Association, aimed at finding Dundee’s next top model who will become the Face of Freedom 2008.

The models were photographed and judged on their walk style, composure, individuality and potential to model.

The event is designed to raise money for Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre and has been organised by Irving Miskell-Reid, owner of Freedom Hair, along with his daughter, former model Kezia McKinnon, Dundee University Charities Committee, Hair NK and In Scotland magazine.

Irving is involved in regular local charity events and he used his Network of Friends group to create a judging panel of people experienced in the industry.

The 12 models who passed the audition stage will perform in a fashion show next month where they will be judged again for prizes including money, a modelling contract and a fashion shoot.

The winner will be announced during the Glad Rags fashion show at the Whitehall Theatre on Sunday, February 24, when regular visitors from the Maggie’s centre will also model.
