PUPILS AT Moncreiffe Primary School in Perth could “Feel the Beat” as they combined their Valentine’s Day celebrations with a health promotion yesterday.

Their aptly-named activity day started with all the pupils gathered into a heart shape holding red balloons, each containing a healthy heart message.

By releasing them, the children hope anyone who finds a balloon will be encouraged to take up that healthy choice.

The rest of the day was spent in health-promoting activities including orienteering, aerobic workouts, relaxation and making fruit smoothies.

Some of the activities will also feature in a new health-promoting DVD which the school is filming.
