SKIERS AND boarders made up the majority of the 2000 out at the ski centres yesterday.
There has been no new snow for over a week and some of the centres are now feeling the pinch.
The funicular railway and six other uplifts were running on Cairn Gorm.
The snow is hard-packed but softening later in the day and the Ptarmigan Bowl is probably best.
There were 850 skiers and another 479 sightseers out yesterday, adding to good figures experienced all week.
Nevis Range had 420 on the gondola and just 80 skiers. Another 150 were expected last night to celebrate the start of the Fort William Mountain Festival.
Glenshee had a quiet day, with around 100 skiers out.
The chairlift and three other uplifts were running on a pleasant day but there has been no new snow.
Most runs at Glencoe are complete, but scraped and icy in places.
It was lovely overhead and the centre hopes to add the Wall T-Bar today to give six out of seven of the uplifts running.
There were just over 120 skiers yesterday plus around another 30 walkers and climbers.
The Lecht is still open but much of their cover is now man-made snow.
The chairlift and three other uplifts ran yesterday, for around 50 people and it was hoped to make more snow overnight to improve cover.
