Garden for Maggie’s Centre

PLANS FOR a dramatic new £250,000 landscaped garden at Maggie’s Centre in Dundee were unveiled yesterday.

The garden—which has been designed by internationally-renowned landscape designer and five-time Chelsea Flower Show gold-medal winner Arabella Lennox-Boyd—will be used by the centre and patients of Ninewells Hospital.

Lesley Howells, Maggie’s Dundee centre head, said, “People can use the space to contemplate, to find privacy, or to talk with other people.”

The new garden will complement the stunning Frank Gehry-designed centre, and will provide open spaces suitable for special events, a secluded outdoor “room,” and improved paths between the centre and the hospital. There will also be views of the Tay and North Fife and an earthwork amphitheatre.

Work on the garden started last week and will be completed by the summer.
