Fans face scramble for tickets

DUNDEE UNITED and its fans are facing a CIS Cup final ticket scramble.

Briefs for the March 16 clash with Rangers are not expected to be available for purchase before the end of the month, which will leave United racing against time to ensure they can access their full allocation of 17,500 tickets and satisfy anticipated demand.

It is understood the Tangerines are to receive an initial batch of 14,500 tickets, which they will have to sell in full before March 7 in before an additional 3000 briefs will be despatched to them by the SFL, otherwise the seats concerned will be made available to Rangers supporters.

With no indication as yet as to when the first batch is to be in their hands, Tannadice officials fear they could find themselves having only a week to 10 days in which to meet the target and secure their full allocation.

United have already drawn up detailed plans for the sale.

Vouchers are to be handed out at each of their next two home games, each voucher entitling the holder to purchase one cup final ticket during the second priority sale period.

For the first three days, briefs will be available for purchase by season ticket holders only, each season ticket holder being able to buy two Hampden briefs.

For the following three days, voucher holders, Arab Zone subscribers, Arab Trust members, and Lottery members will have priority.

General sales will commence thereafter.

Season ticket holders who meet any of the other priority criteria can purchase further tickets.

Arrangements are being made to accept online orders, postal applications, telephone orders and in person purchases at the club shop.

An order form will be available to download from the club’s website in time for the sales period commencing.

Family section tickets will be restricted to a maximum of three adults to one child.

Meanwhile, United have taken Guinean international keeper Kemoko Camara, who recently helped his country reach the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations, on trial.

Kemoko (32), who is a free agent, was on trial with Morton during the closing weeks of last year.
