FIFE CONSTABULARY are continuing to piece together events surrounding the sex attack in Thornton on Hogmanay, encouraged by the public response to their appeal for information.
Part of the inquiry has focused on analysing CCTV footage from the surrounding area, which has identified several people the police would like to contact.
In particular they’d like to speak to a male and a female who got off a train and into a silver/light blue Ford Focus at Thornton around 2.30pm on December 31.
They are also seeking any cyclists who travelled through Thornton that afternoon, particularly somebody wearing an bright orange jacket who cycled out of the village toward Kirkcaldy.
Officers are still anxious to trace a vehicle that was parked on Balbeggie Avenue that afternoon which is similar in style to a Renault Kangoo and is silver/light blue.
DCI Hardie expressed his gratitude for the assistance given by people who have come forward with information and he believes continuing public support will help to apprehend those responsible for the crime.
