BBC RADIO Scotland’s Tom Morton faced a fight for his job yesterday from two pupils from Dundee’s Baldragon Academy, desperate for their break into broadcasting.

Fiona Cunningham and Elliot Robertson, both in 6th year, helped present the afternoon music show from the Baldragon ‘SoundTown’ school studio.

The school soul band also made their radio debut and teams of pupils and teachers battled it out on air in a pop quiz.

Speaking before the show Tom said, “I’m hoping they won’t be too good.

“Broadcasters are always looking over their shoulders for the threat from up and coming talent.”

The school is the BBC Soundtown School for 2008.
