Presentation by Clova Hotel

Clare Cameron of the Clova Hotel (centre) presents cheques for £345 to Edith Mearns (Clova Kirk trustee) and Ian Pert (Tayside Mountain Rescue).

TAYSIDE MOUNTAIN Rescue Team has received another generous boost from a hotel with which it has enjoyed an excellent long-standing relationship.

The Clova Hotel in Glen Clova has been well-known to generations of volunteers who have served the team, with training held nearby.

Yesterday the team was one part of a double cheque presentation by the hotel, with just under £700 of festive raffle proceeds split equally between the unit and Clova kirk.

Section leader Ian Pert accepted the £345 donation on behalf of his colleagues and said the hotel was a supporter of the group.

“We’ve had quite a lot of money from them over the years and there is a very strong link between the team and the Clova Hotel.

“Money from places like the Clova Hotel keeps us going in our efforts to provide mountain rescue cover over 2500 square miles in Tayside and we are very grateful for such support,” he added.
