A DRIVER died in a serious accident on the A90 in Perthshire in the early hours of yesterday.

Patrick Kane (58), from Glencarse, was driving a vehicle on the Perth to Dundee road.

At around 12.50am, his vehicle was involved in an accident at the Inchmichael Garage near Errol.

Emergency services rushed to the crash site, but Mr Kane was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicle was involved.

The eastbound carriageway was closed for more than five hours to allow a full crash investigation to take place and the vehicle to be recovered.
