THE FIRST John Muir Trust awards to be handed out in Clackmannanshire have gone to volunteers who helped build a new bird sanctuary.
Bobby’s Bank, named after Sir Robert Stewart of Arndean, is a new sand martin nesting bank at Gartmorn Dam.
The new purpose-built home for the migrating birds was created by the biodiversity partnership in collaboration with the local countryside rangers service and volunteers, many of whom were presented with the trust awards.
The awards focus on wild places, are non-competitive, and open to all.
