STUDENT MODELS from St Andrews University due to take part in this weekend’s charity Don’t Walk fashion show have given a sneak preview of some of the stunning designs.

Around a dozen of the 23 who will take to the catwalk tomorrow night modelled a selection of the colourful fashions yesterday.

The charity programme, which will take place at Kinkell Farm, on the outskirts of St Andrews, has already attracted a sell-out audience of more than 550, spokeswoman Abbie Taylor said.

“It is a completely new team this year and we can promise some exciting features. It has been labelled as the best student-run fashion show in the country, so we have a lot to live up to.”

The fashion extravaganza will show the work of more than two dozen designers from all over the world, including New York, London, Paris, Toronto and Copenhagen.

Among the up-and-coming designers will be Dundee’s Lucinda Gault (25), a graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone, who focuses on Fairtrade goods with her company, Vagabondvan, a boutique on wheels, and final-year St Andrews students, Rachael Millar and Hannah Sim.

The programme’s director is third-year art history student, Emma Parker, who said, “We can promise a colourful and eclectic show with a few surprises thrown in.”

Past patrons and supporters of the Don’t Walk show have included many famous names—Kate Moss, Jack Vettriano, Yves Saint Laurent, Alan Rickman, Dame Judi Dench, DJ Spoony, Claudia Schiffer and rock band Travis.

Tomorrow’s show is expected to raise around £10,000 which will be divided between the nominated charities.
