A LIFELONG Dundee United fan is to embark on an Australian adventure on Sunday: finding somewhere to watch the CIS Cup Final.
Bill Wallace and his wife Beryl fly out to Australia on Saturday, meaning the United-mad barman will miss his team’s first cup final appearance since losing the Scottish Cup final in 2005.
He is going to visit fellow Dundonian Bill Ford, who emigrated with his family to Perth 27 years ago.
Both men, who attended Stobswell School together, are United daft and will be scouring the city for somewhere to watch the game.
“We’re both United men but I realised we would be missing the final,” said Bill.
“We booked the flights last year so had no idea United would get to Hampden. I’ve been to every United cup final for the past 42 years.
“We land at 20 past six on the Sunday but that’s only about 10 in the morning over here so I should be able to see it,” he added.
