PERFORM IN Perth 2008 was judged a huge success as organisers looked back over the fortnight of music, dance and song which drew to a close on Saturday night.

With over 3000 entrants, the musical competition was at its busiest for many years and the stage is set for the annual test of local talent to enjoy a bright future.

Festival secretary Michael Jamieson said, “It has been a brilliant fortnight which everyone involved has enjoyed immensely.

“The split between the two venues—Perth Concert Hall and St Leonard’s-in-the-Fields Church—has proved to be popular and successful and ensured a smooth fortnight’s competition.

“The competitors themselves have also been a joy—there is a lot of talent out there.”

Some of the most talented took part in a closing concert at the church on Saturday night, allowing spectators to re-live some of the highlights of the 84th annual festival.
