Child biker breaking records

Ciara with the second place Scottish Winter Series trophy.

MONTROSE MOTORBIKE racer Ciara Robertson may be only seven, but she is already breaking records.

Following in the wheeltracks of her father Alister, the youngster’s speeds have topped 50mph aboard her KTM 50cc bike in the sport of motocross making her one of the fastest riders for her age in Scotland.

While her dad is sitting fourth in the North-East Scotland Championships, Ciara, who has been racing since she was six, is sitting fifth in the junior section.

Being the only girl in the class simply fuels her determination.

Her skill on the track has recently attracted substantial sponsorship from a number of Montrose businesses.

This has helped to ensure she has the adequate kit and entry fees to carry on racing.

Neither are her high speed antics confined to motorbikes. She also holds the lap record of 15.02 secs on the Montrose indoor karting circuit.
