POLICE were last night probing the death of a 23-month-old boy at a house in the Douglas area of Dundee.
Officers attended at a block of flats in Balunie Crescent yesterday morning after receiving a report that a child had died suddenly.
An investigation was immediately launched to determine the circumstances of the death and a post mortem was carried out on the child’s body late yesterday afternoon.
A force spokesperson told The Courier last night, “As a result of the post mortem examination today, Tayside Police are continuing inquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death of an infant boy in Dundee.”
The Courier visited Balunie Crescent yesterday and found two police cars were parked in the street.
However, none of the houses in the road were cordoned off and police activity was relatively low-key.
As with all cases involving a sudden death, the police will submit a report to the procurator fiscal’s office in Dundee.
