Church thief still at large

POLICE IN Dundee are continuing the hunt for a robber who fled after being chased out of a Dundee church by an angry priest.

The robber interrupted the Maundy Thursday service at St John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Albert Street earlier this week.

He managed to grab a jar containing flower money before Reverend Canon Joe Morrow, who is also a Dundee councillor, ran down the aisle and chased the robber out of the premises before he could disrupt the ceremony further.

The incident happened in full view of 25 members of the congregation who were attending the service.

Unfortunately, Mr Morrow was unable to retrieve the money.

A spokeswoman for Tayside Police said, “Inquiries into the incident are continuing.”
