Rockin’ around the club to help ward

Lyndsey hands over the cash to senior charge nurse Joy Watson flanked by medical staff.

AN ALL-DAY rock event organised by cancer survivor Lyndsey Tinney raised £3180 for the neurosurgery ward at Ninewells Hospital.

Lyndsey, of Tofthill Place, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour while pregnant with son Gary, held the event to raise money for the ward.

In 2005, doctors were forced to bring Gary into the world a month early so they could perform the 10-hour operation which saved his mother’s life.

The money will be used to redecorate the day room that is used by patients and which will be named after Lyndsey.

And she said, “It makes you feel really proud, but I was just pleased to be able to do something to help.”

The nine-hour gig, which took place at the Logie Club in Dundee in October, featured local bands The Daze, Page 6, Brogues, The Rise, Dave, The Likely Lads, The Carrellos and Beastie from Luva Anna.
