THE QUEST for the Miss Scotland crown began for some Dundee hopefuls on Saturday.

A total of 18 beauty queens registered for the competition at The Underground on South Tay Street.

The judges will now choose the top candidates from Tayside, who will go forward to the national competition where they will be pitted against other contestants from around the country.

The eventual winner of Miss Scotland 2008 will win £10,000 and a contract with marketing agency DADA.

She will then fly out to Ukraine to compete in this year’s Miss World competition.
