A MULTI-MILLION pound extension project on a Perthshire school is under way.
The £4.3 million Glenbrae extension at Strathallan School will begin to take shape, providing a new 60-bedroom boarding house for the pupils.
It will also contain common rooms, kitchens, a tutor’s flat and house parent accommodation.
The “first dig” took place with headmaster Bruce Thompson and a number of the junior house pupils, some of whom will be joining the new house when they move to senior school in September, 2009.
The project will create an eighth boarding house to enable the school to meet an increasing demand for places, with the roll rising to 500 in the last three years, with approximately 70% of the pupils boarding.
