Videogames recruited in war on obesity

PERTH AND Kinross Leisure has teamed up with local shop Gamestation to tackle obesity through the use of video games.

As obesity levels increase, PKL recognised the need to introduce something different to their Easter Programme in the bid to get more kids active.

One change is the introduction of a new fun session at Bell’s Sports Centre, replacing traditional sports with physical activity using Nintendo Wii’s.

The local game shop provided PKL with a couple of machines, which will allow it to try out these new sessions, which so far are filling up fast as they are proving very popular with local youths.

For more information on the Easter programme, visit www.liveactive.co.uk or call Bell’s Sports Centre on 01738 458900.
